PureSky Energy, a leader in sustainable energy, announced the successful operation of its Cotuit Solar Farm in Sandwich, MA. This marks the company’s 11th solar site in Massachusetts and 35th in the U.S. The Cotuit Solar Farm, located in Sandwich, covers an area of 4.4 MWdc (4,357 kWdc) and is equipped with 11,172 high-efficiency solar panels. It also includes a 1.4 MWdc battery energy storage system. The farm is expected to generate approximately 5.7 million kWh of energy annually, which will reduce carbon emissions by 8.8 million lbs, equivalent to removing 951 cars from the road. Over the next 20 years, the project is projected to save customers around $2.3 million.

The Cotuit Solar Farm benefits the local community by providing affordable energy and generating revenue for the town of Sandwich. PureSky Energy donated the land to the town and is leasing it, creating an annual income for the municipality. In addition, a neighboring town has committed to purchasing community solar credits at a discounted rate, helping reduce energy costs for local residents throughout the life of the solar farm. This initiative is a testament to PureSky’s commitment to renewable energy development and energy storage solutions, which enhance the resilience of the local power grid and reduce the likelihood of power outages.
