TP Solar Ltd, the solar manufacturing arm of Tata Power and a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, has inaugurated a 4.3 GW solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. The state-of-the-art plant was officially inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thiru M.K. Stalin, marking a key milestone in the state’s industrial growth. The ceremony was attended by Thiru T.R.B. Rajaa, Minister for Industries & Commerce, along with Tata Power’s CEO & MD, Dr. Praveer Sinha, and Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited’s CEO & MD, Mr. Deepesh Nanda.
India’s largest single-location solar manufacturing facility, the plant is equipped with advanced TOPCon and Mono PERC technologies to produce high-efficiency solar cells and modules, supporting the country’s transition to clean energy. Beyond strengthening India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem, the facility aligns with Tata Power’s vision for sustainable growth by generating local employment, empowering women, and promoting green entrepreneurship. Initially, the solar modules will supply Tata Power’s ongoing projects, with future plans for broader market distribution.
