Lakshadweep Invites Bids For 2,107 kW Rooftop Solar Project With Battery Storage On Government Buildings

The Lakshadweep Electricity Department has issued a tender for the installation of 2,107 kW of rooftop solar systems on government buildings. Each system will include a 3 kWh battery energy storage unit per kW of solar capacity. The bidding process is open, and interested parties must submit their bids by April 10, 2025. The bids will be opened the following day for evaluation.

To participate, bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of โ‚น46.19 lakh. The successful bidder will be required to provide a security deposit equal to 5% of the total contract value before signing the agreement. The project scope includes a five-year warranty for the solar installations, along with comprehensive operation and maintenance services for another five years. This maintenance period may be extended up to 25 years if required.

Companies interested in bidding must have previous experience in grid-connected solar installations, having commissioned at least 2 MW of projects over the last five financial years. Within this, at least one project should have a capacity of 300 kW or more and must have been in operation for at least six months before the bid submission deadline.

Additionally, companies that have developed industrial projects in sectors like power, steel, oil and gas, petrochemicals, fertilizers, cement, or coal mining can also qualify if they have completed a single project worth at least โ‚น10 crore in the last ten years. The project should have been operational for at least one year before the bid opening date.

Financially, bidders must demonstrate an average annual turnover of at least โ‚น10.85 crore or a net worth certificate of โ‚น36.2 crore from a certified chartered accountant.

The solar modules used in the project must be listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers. The initiative aims to expand renewable energy adoption in Lakshadweep, ensuring sustainable power solutions for government buildings.
