The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) announced the election of Scott Moskowitz of Qcells as chair of its Board of Directors, along with a group of newly elected board members representing the full scope of the U.S. solar and storage industry. Moskowitzโs election, representing Qcells, a leading solar manufacturer and clean energy solutions provider in the United States underscores SEIAโs commitment to supporting American-made solar and storage as the nationโs leading sources of new power.
He was elected in a special board vote to succeed Darren Vanโt Hof, who stepped down as board chair following his appointment as interim president and CEO of SEIA. In addition to Moskowitzโs appointment as chair, Dr. Ingmar Ritzenhofen, chief commercial officer of RWE Clean Energy, a solar and storage project developer, was elected vice chair. Ritzenhofen brings extensive experience in large-scale project development and grid integration, adding valuable expertise to SEIAโs leadership team.
Darren Vanโt Hof, SEIAโs interim president and CEO, highlighted the importance of experienced leadership as the solar and storage industry enters a pivotal year of growth and transition in 2026, amid policy uncertainty and evolving regulatory frameworks. He congratulated Moskowitz, Ritzenhofen, and all newly elected and returning board members, emphasizing that their guidance will help ensure solar and storage continue to lead Americaโs energy future while delivering economic and energy security benefits to communities across the country.
Moskowitz expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve as SEIA board chair during a critical period for the industry. He noted that SEIA plays a vital role in advancing durable, bipartisan policies that accelerate clean energy deployment, strengthen U.S. manufacturing, and reduce electricity costs. Moskowitz also highlighted his commitment to collaborating with the board, SEIA staff, and policymakers to achieve these objectives.
In addition to the chair and vice chair elections, SEIAโs board approved three at-large members, a new affiliate representative, and division chairs and vice chairs for the associationโs six membership divisions, further strengthening the organizationโs leadership and representation across the solar and storage sector.
