Tata Power-led Odisha Discoms are dedicated to empowering communities and promoting sustainable livelihoods, with a strong focus on womenโ€™s empowerment. Through initiatives in education, employment, entrepreneurship, and healthcare, the company is helping women across Odisha become financially independent and self-reliant. By combining skill development with economic opportunities, Tata Power is not only advancing gender equality but also contributing to long-term socio-economic growth in the region.

A key part of this effort is the engagement of 1,220 Women Self-Help Groups (WSHGs), benefiting over 12,000 women through training, financial assistance, and market connections. These groups play an important role in creating income opportunities and fostering financial independence. Additionally, Tata Power-led Odisha Discoms have supported 1,913 Abhas across the state by training them in technical fields like electricity metering, billing, and collection, while also promoting energy conservation in both urban and rural areas. Recognizing the importance of education in empowerment, Tata Power has established 55 Women Literacy Centers, helping more than 2,000 women develop basic literacy skills. The company also facilitates access to government programs that support womenโ€™s education and financial growth.
