GoodWeโs commitment to sustainability continues with a recent effort in Australia. The global leader in solar energy solutions has partnered with Six Star Plus and AWM Greentech Clayton to support wildlife rescue efforts by donating and installing a solar energy system for dedicated foster carers Colin and Jill.
For nearly four decades, Colin and Jill have rescued and rehabilitated orphaned joeys and wombats. Their work requires round-the-clock care and significant energy for heating, food storage, and essential medical equipment. Rising energy costs were putting the future of their foster care at risk, but the new solar system ensures a reliable and sustainable energy source to support their mission.

An 8.4kW solar system was installed, featuring 20 REC solar panels donated by AWM Greentech Clayton and a GoodWe 8kW MS G3 inverter. This system significantly reduces energy costs while providing a stable and sustainable power supply for essential equipment such as heating lamps, refrigeration, and medical devices, enabling Colin and Jill to continue their life-saving work.

Sustainability in Action: Powering Change with Renewable Energy
Dean Williamson, Country Manager at GoodWe Australia, emphasized the companyโs passion for supporting non-profit causes. He mentioned that when GoodWe learned about Colin and Jillโs situation, they saw an opportunity to help wildlife carers, who often work without government funding. By providing access to solar energy, GoodWe aims to reduce financial strain and support conservation efforts.
Lauren from Six Star Plus praised Colin and Jillโs dedication to animal care, noting their decades of commitment. She highlighted the company’s ongoing voluntary work, fundraising, and donations. After receiving the GoodWe โGoodWillโ Award, Six Star Plus was excited to collaborate with GoodWe and AWM Greentech Clayton, who donated solar panels, to support Colin and Jillโs work without the burden of high energy bills.
Colin and Jill expressed gratitude for the support, emphasizing the solar system’s positive impact on reducing costs and freeing up resources for the joeys. They highlighted the ongoing need for supplies like formula, tissues, and wet wipes, and their goal of raising the animals, moving them to a larger shelter, and eventually releasing them back into the wild.
This initiative highlights GoodWeโs commitment to using solar technology for positive environmental and community impact. By powering a wildlife rescue with renewable energy, GoodWe and Six Star Plus are not only reducing carbon footprints but also directly contributing to wildlife conservation in Australia.
