Tata Motors, Indiaโ€™s leading automotive manufacturer, has entered into a landmark Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power and a key player in Indiaโ€™s clean energy transition, to jointly develop a 131 MW wind-solar hybrid renewable energy project.

The project is expected to generate approximately 300 million units of clean electricity annually, helping offset over 200,000 tons of COโ‚‚ emissions each year. Through a strategic co-investment model and a long-term PPA, the hybrid solution will supply green, cost-efficient energy exclusively to Tata Motorsโ€™ six manufacturing facilities across Maharashtra and Gujarat. This will support the production of both commercial and passenger vehicles with renewable energy. Mr. Vishal Badshah, Vice President โ€“ Operations, Commercial Vehicles, Tata Motors, said,ย โ€œAs a key driver of Indiaโ€™s mobility and logistics ecosystem, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles is proud to lead by example in sustainable manufacturing. This project reinforces our commitment to integrate renewable energy into our operations and reducing our carbon footprint while meeting our RE-100 goals. It also reflects our broader purpose of delivering mobility solutions that are sustainable at every stageโ€”from production to performance.โ€
