CKPower Public Company Limited , a leading regional producer of renewable electricity with one of the lowest carbon footprints in Southeast Asia, has announced the continuation of its flagship Hinghoi Project into its eighth consecutive year. Operating under the theme โ€œLighting the Path of Learning toward Sustainability,โ€ the initiative is delivering long-term impact through infrastructure development, education in renewable energy, and environmental conservation.

As part of this yearโ€™s project, CKPower constructed an energy-efficient library building at the Ban Mae Mu Nai Border Patrol Police Learning Centre in Mae Chaem District, Chiang Mai. The building, designed to maximize natural light and ventilation, aims to reduce electricity consumption while improving the learning environment for students in the remote area.

According to Mr. Thanawat Trivisvavet, Managing Director of CKPower, the Hinghoi Project is aligned with the companyโ€™s 5-year CSR Strategy Framework (2022โ€“2026). โ€œOur focus has always been on leveraging our renewable energy expertise to support sustainable community development. The Hinghoi Project continues to empower local communities with clean energy access and knowledge, while fostering a strong culture of volunteerism among our employees,โ€ said Mr. Thanawat.

Over 250 volunteers from CKPower Group participated in this yearโ€™s activities, which included educational sessions on renewable energy, renovation of existing facilities, and distribution of educational materials tailored for primary students. The old library building was adapted for specialized environmental education for Grades 5 and 6.

Since its launch in 2016, the Hinghoi Project has achieved measurable impact:

  • Provided 100,330 watts of renewable energy access to underserved communities
  • Educated 9,513 teacher leaders and youth on renewable energy
  • Reached 4,377 individuals with environmental conservation training

The projectโ€™s initiatives are structured around three key pillars:

  1. Hinghoi: Renewable Electricity for Better Quality of Life โ€“ focuses on improving access to clean energy and knowledge.
  2. Hinghoi: Preserving and Restoring Natural Resources โ€“ emphasizes awareness-building and expansion of conservation efforts.
  3. Hinghoi: Co-creating Innovations to Enhance Opportunities for Communities โ€“ supports economic development through the One Power Plant One Product (OPOP) initiative.

Looking ahead, CKPower plans to further extend the Hinghoi Project to communities across Thailand and the Lao PDR, with an emphasis on building a renewable energy fund for long-term sustainability. The company is also committed to strengthening its network of educators and youth leaders to broaden the social impact of its initiatives.
