Exclusive Interview | Solar & Storage Live Africa 2025
As Africa ramps up its renewable energy ambitions, global clean energy leaders are responding with technologies tailored to the continent’s diverse climates and infrastructural needs. At the forefront of this movement is JinkoSolar, a global leader in PV innovation and energy storage integration.

During Solar & Storage Live Africa 2025, we sat down with Joanna Zhuona, a senior representative at JinkoSolar, to explore how the company is enabling Africa’s solar transformation—through advanced module technologies and scalable energy storage systems that aim to deliver lasting energy security.

JinkoSolar has consistently led solar innovation globally. What latest high-efficiency PV technologies are you showcasing at Solar & Storage Live Africa 2025?

At this year’s event, we’re proud to unveil the Tiger Neo 3.0 series—our latest generation of high-efficiency PV modules. Built on advanced TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) technology, these modules are designed for both commercial & industrial (C&I) and utility-scale deployments. We’ve made major strides in metallization techniques and overall module structure, leading to higher conversion efficiencies and improved energy yields across applications.

How is JinkoSolar meeting the growing demand for reliable solar modules that can endure Africa’s diverse climates and environmental conditions?

Africa presents a variety of environmental challenges—ranging from extreme heat to high humidity and fluctuating irradiance. Our Tiger Neo 3.0 modules are engineered specifically for these conditions, with improved thermal stability and enhanced cell resistivity. These upgrades ensure robust and consistent performance, regardless of geography, while extending the product lifespan in even the toughest climates.

What technologies are built into your modules to ensure long-term reliability and consistent output in these demanding settings?

Our R&D teams have focused heavily on metallization optimization and advanced cell structure engineering, which are key to long-term performance. The Tiger Neo 3.0 is equipped with features that boost heat resistance and humidity tolerance, minimizing degradation over time. These improvements help ensure that projects across Africa continue delivering strong, stable output over their full operational lifespan.

As energy storage becomes increasingly critical, what ESS innovations is Jinko showcasing at the expo this year?
In addition to our solar modules, we’re highlighting our latest integrated Energy Storage Systems (ESS). These solutions are modular, scalable, and optimized for both off-grid and hybrid applications—making them ideal for Africa’s evolving energy landscape. Our ESS offerings are designed to address the continent’s power reliability issues, especially in areas where the grid remains unstable or underdeveloped.
