Indian Green Energy Stocks Witness Mixed Trading As Sensex Rallies 1.9% On November 6

The Indian stock market recorded a strong positive trading session on November 6, 2026, with benchmark indices registering significant gains amid improved investor sentiment. The S&P BSE SENSEX advanced 1.9 per cent to close at 80,793.3, reflecting broad-based optimism across the market. However, stocks from the green energy, renewable energy, and power sectors witnessed mixed trading trends on both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE), with selected companies posting gains while several others ended the session in negative territory.

Among the major gainers in the renewable energy segment, Adani Green Energy recorded modest growth during the trading session. Its shares closed at ₹1,422.50 on the BSE, gaining 0.60 per cent, while the NSE price stood at ₹1,423.50, representing an increase of 0.61 per cent. The positive movement reflected relatively stable investor interest in the company’s shares amid the broader market rally.

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) also traded positively, with its shares gaining 1.14 per cent on the BSE to reach ₹146.10. On the NSE, the stock advanced 1.13 per cent to ₹146.14. Larsen & Toubro (L&T) was another notable performer, registering a 1.2 per cent increase during the session.

On the other hand, several companies operating in the renewable energy and power sectors experienced selling pressure. Tata Power emerged as one of the notable underperformers, with its shares declining 3.8 per cent. Insolation Energy also witnessed a considerable correction, falling 3.1 per cent to ₹71.64 on the BSE and ₹71.72 on the NSE.

Borosil Renewables registered a decline of 2.79 per cent on the BSE, with its shares closing at approximately ₹402.05. Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) also faced downward pressure, falling 2.68 per cent to ₹109.10. Inox Wind shares declined 2.46 per cent to close at ₹64.30 on the BSE, reflecting weakness in the renewable energy manufacturing segment.

Battery and electric mobility-related companies also ended the session lower. Amara Raja Energy & Mobility declined 1.16 per cent, while Exide Industries recorded a 1.23 per cent decrease. GAIL shares slipped 0.75 per cent to ₹184.50, whereas JSW Energy remained largely stable, edging down by 0.05 per cent to ₹521.75 on the BSE.

Overall, the November 6 trading session highlighted contrasting movements across India’s green energy and power stocks. Despite the strong 1.9 per cent rally in the Sensex, several renewable energy companies faced selling pressure, indicating selective investor participation across the sector. Adani Green Energy and IOC managed to maintain positive momentum, while Tata Power, Insolation Energy, Borosil Renewables and IEX recorded notable declines.
