Ignacio Galรกn, Executive Chairman of Iberdrola, participated in the state dinner hosted by the Emir of Qatar in honor of U.S. President Donald Trump’s visit. The event brought together influential business and political figures, underscoring the importance of international relations and collaboration among nations.

At the dinner, Galรกn reaffirmed Iberdrola’s commitment to the United States, which remains the company’s primary investment destination. Over the past 20 years, Iberdrola has invested $50 billion in the U.S. and intends to invest an additional $20 billion by the end of the decade to modernize, expand, and digitize grid infrastructure. The company also operates 10,500 MW in the generation sector.

Iberdrola’s relationship with Qatar dates back to 2011, when the Qatar Investment Authority became the company’s largest shareholder. Since then, the two entities have worked together on several initiatives, including a research and development center in Qatar dedicated to smart grids and digitalization. This partnership has further solidified Iberdrola’s position as a global leader in the energy sector.
