Property developer LBS Bina Group Berhad (LBS) has secured RM88.4 million in green financing from Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad to fund the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) of its first-ever 43 MWp solar farm project in Senawang, Negeri Sembilan.
The financing was obtained through LBS’s special purpose vehicle, Suria Hijauan Sdn Bhd, under the Corporate Green Power Programme (CGPP). The project is slated for completion by end-2025 and is expected to produce approximately 53,000 MWh of clean energy annually—equivalent to offsetting 35,000 tonnes of carbon emissions.
The EPCC contract, valued at RM104 million, was awarded to Atlantic Blue Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Solarvest Holdings Berhad, recognised for its track record in executing large-scale solar projects.
Speaking on the milestone, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Ir. (Dr.) Lim Hock San, Group Executive Chairman of LBS, said the green financing signifies the Group’s strategic diversification into renewable energy. “Securing this facility from a reputable institution like Alliance Bank underscores market confidence in our renewable energy plans and reinforces our long-term sustainability commitment,” he said.
He further stated that the solar initiative aligns with LBS’s broader goal of integrating renewable energy into its core property business. “This complements our vision of sustainable urban development while supporting Malaysia’s push towards a low-carbon economy,” he added.
Alliance Bank’s Group CEO, Kellee Kam, highlighted the importance of financial institutions in enabling sustainable growth. “We are proud to support LBS in this transformative journey. This is more than just a project—it represents a shared commitment to environmental progress and responsible development,” Kam remarked.
The project is expected to generate stable, recurring revenue for LBS, boosting its long-term earnings resilience and marking a significant step forward in the Group’s sustainability journey.
