Waaree Energies Limited, one of India’s leading clean energy transition companies, has been named the Overall Highest Achiever in the 2025 PV Module Index Report by the Renewable Energy Test Center (RETC). This marks the second consecutive year that Waaree has received this prestigious recognition, making it the only Indian solar module manufacturer to achieve this distinction at a global level. The achievement underscores Waaree’s continued leadership in solar innovation, product quality, and long-term reliability.

The PV Module Index Report by RETC is one of the solar industry’s most comprehensive and demanding benchmarking tools. It is designed to help developers, EPC contractors, and other stakeholders assess solar modules based on their performance under real-world stress conditions. The evaluation includes accelerated tests that simulate extreme environmental challenges, such as rapid temperature shifts, prolonged humidity exposure, and high-voltage stress, to judge the durability and efficiency of the panels.

To determine the top-performing manufacturers, RETC analyses performance data across three key disciplines: quality, performance, and reliability. Waaree Energies excelled across all three areas, demonstrating strong consistency in test results. One of the highlights in the 2025 evaluation was the Light-Induced Degradation (LID) resistance test, which measures how much power a solar module loses upon initial exposure to sunlight. Waaree’s modules recorded a power degradation of 0.5% or less, placing them among the best performers globally. This result reflects the superior materials and cell technologies used in the manufacturing process.

In addition to LID resistance, Waaree’s modules were tested for their resilience under extreme environmental stress. The tests included exposure to temperature cycles ranging from -40°C to +85°C, 2,000 hours of high humidity at 85°C and 85% relative humidity, and 192 hours of high-voltage stress. Waaree also uses advanced modeling techniques to optimize energy output under varying sunlight conditions and installation angles, ensuring consistent energy generation throughout the day.

Cherif Kedir, President & CEO of RETC, mentioned, “Waaree Energies has met or exceeded the most demanding global benchmarks in solar reliability and performance. Being recognized as an Overall Highest Achiever in our 2025 PV Module Index Report is an exceptionally high bar to pass, earned only by those who have excelled in rigorous bankability test criteria. Waaree’s results reflect a best-in-class commitment to quality, and we congratulate the Indian manufacturer for receiving our top accolade.”

Dr. Amit Paithankar, Whole-time Director & CEO of Waaree Energies Limited, said in a statement, “Every test passed and every parameter exceeded reflects our belief that quality isn’t optional- it’s elemental. At Waaree, innovation is not a department; it’s our DNA. To be ranked highest among global leaders by RETC is a moment of pride, and a signal to the world: India is ready to lead the clean energy future- technologically, sustainably, and reliably.”

It also positions the company as a key representative of India’s growing manufacturing strength in the global renewable energy sector. At a time when the world is accelerating its transition to clean energy, Waaree’s commitment to innovation, quality control, and customer-focused engineering continues to set new benchmarks.

In the domestic market, Waaree holds a leading position with a 17.3% share of total module shipments in India in the first quarter of 2025. The company is also seeing strong growth in international markets through increasing export volumes. With this recognition, Waaree reaffirms its mission to empower communities around the world with high-performance solar technology and to contribute meaningfully to a sustainable global future.
