In a strategic move to accelerate Indiaโs clean energy transition, the Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI) and Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Ltd. (MAHAPREIT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop renewable energy (RE) projects in Maharashtra and other states.
SECI, a Navratna Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), will partner with MAHAPREIT, a Government of Maharashtra State PSU, to identify and allocate suitable land parcels and facilitate grid connectivity infrastructure essential for the rollout of RE initiatives.
The collaboration is aimed at unlocking new opportunities in the rapidly expanding Commercial and Industrial (C&I) clean energy market, enabling SECI to meet growing demand with robust, infrastructure-led solutions.
The MoU was signed in the presence of key dignitaries including Shri Bipin Shrimali, IAS (Retd.), Managing Director of MAHAPREIT, Shri Sivakumar V Vepakomma, Director (Power Systems), SECI, and Shri Vijay Kumar Kalam Patil, Director (Operations) along with Shri Purushottam Jadhav, Director (SGP). The agreement was officially executed by Shri Dipak Kokate, Executive Director, MAHAPREIT, and Shri Avnish Parashar, Deputy General Manager (Business Development), SECI.
This partnership forms part of a broader vision to catalyze Indiaโs energy transition through strategic collaboration and infrastructure-backed development. Both organizations aim to strengthen their role as key enablers in Indiaโs path to a sustainable, decarbonized energy future.
