POWERCHINA has signed engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts with Chilean energy companies Transelec and CGE, as well as French utility Engie, to expand two critical substations under Chileโ€™s 2024 Decree No. 4. The agreements include the G15 and G04 segmentsโ€”strategic components of the countryโ€™s national electricity grid upgrade plan, overseen by the National Electricity Coordinator.

The G15 project, located in the Antofagasta region in northern Chile, covers the expansion of a 500 kV substation and includes two sub-projects (OC01 and OC02) at the Parinas substation, aimed at increasing transmission capacity for clean energy. The G04 segment focuses on the 220 kV San Juan and Algarrobal substations in central-northern Chile, targeting improved equipment configuration, operational efficiency, and overall grid stability. These projects mark a new milestone for POWERCHINA in Chile, building on its previous 500 kV transmission and transformation achievements, and reinforcing its growing presence across solar, transmission, and grid design sectors in the country.
