Indian stock markets ended the trading session on October 13, 2026, with strong gains across benchmark indices, supported by buying activity in green energy, power infrastructure, and industrial stocks. The S&P BSE Sensex rose 1.54% to close at 73,033.78, while the Nifty 50 advanced 1.51% to settle at 22,702.05. The positive movement reflected improved investor sentiment, although selected renewable energy stocks experienced selling pressure during the session.
In the green energy segment, Inox Wind emerged as one of the notable gainers. The stock advanced 3.93% on the BSE to close at ₹70.00, while it gained 4.18% on the NSE to reach ₹69.98. Olectra Greentech also recorded an upward movement, rising 1.69% to ₹1,066.00 on the BSE, reflecting buying interest in the electric mobility and clean transportation segment.
Adani Green Energy shares gained 1.28% to trade at ₹1,284.95 on the BSE. Borosil Renewables also registered gains of more than 1%, while Tata Power advanced 0.51% to close at ₹344.95. These movements indicated continued buying interest across several renewable energy and power-related counters amid the broader market rally.
However, some renewable energy stocks ended the session lower. Insolation Energy recorded a significant decline, falling 5.78% on the BSE to ₹74.34. On the NSE, the stock dropped 3.33% to ₹76.00. EKI Energy Services also faced selling pressure, declining 1.9% during the session.
JSW Energy shares fell 1.66% on the BSE to settle at ₹460.00, while NTPC Green Energy declined 1.23%. The losses highlighted differences in stock-specific performance despite the overall positive movement in the domestic equity market.
Among major industrial companies, Larsen and Toubro (L&T) advanced 1.24%, trading at ₹3,675.00 on the BSE and ₹3,671.20 on the NSE. Reliance Industries also moved higher, gaining approximately 0.66% to trade near ₹1,166.70 on the BSE.
Meanwhile, Indian Oil Corporation and GAIL recorded marginal gains of less than 1%, contributing to the positive performance across energy and utility stocks.
Overall, the October 13 session was marked by broad-based gains in benchmark indices and selective buying across renewable energy, electric mobility, and industrial companies. While several clean energy stocks advanced, declines in Insolation Energy, JSW Energy, and NTPC Green Energy demonstrated that market participation remained uneven across the sector.
