Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called for enhanced collaboration with Singapore in green energy initiatives, with a special focus on green hydrogen, transmission corridors, and port development. His appeal came during high-level meetings on the second day of his official visit to Singapore.
Naidu met with Dr. Tan See Leng, Singaporeโs Minister for Manpower and Minister-in-charge of Energy and Science & Technology, under the Ministry of Trade and Industry. The discussions revolved around strategic cooperation in green energy, housing, data centers, and logisticsโareas where Andhra Pradesh seeks to leverage Singaporeโs global expertise.
Highlighting Andhra Pradeshโs ambitious clean energy roadmap, Naidu emphasized the state’s commitment to green hydrogen and efficient power transmission networks, inviting Singapore firms to take a leading role in upcoming projects. He also proposed knowledge-sharing in port logistics, drawing on Singapore’s renowned logistics and infrastructure capabilities.
Addressing past concerns faced by Singapore-based firms during the previous state administration, Naidu assured a new era of transparency and corrective governance. He reaffirmed Andhra Pradeshโs intention to foster investor confidence and long-term partnerships.
Recalling earlier collaborations like the Singapore Township in Hyderabad, Naidu praised Singaporeโs urban planning and operational excellence. He extended an invitation to Minister Tan for the Global Investors Summit in Visakhapatnam this November.
Minister Tan See Leng responded positively, showing interest in collaborating on housing and subsea cable infrastructure. He also noted Singaporeโs existing work with the World Bank on green energy programs, indicating alignment with Andhra Pradeshโs sustainability ambitions.
The meeting was attended by key Andhra Pradesh ministers, including Nara Lokesh, P. Narayana, and T.G. Bharath.
