The International Solar Alliance (ISA) will host its Seventh Regional Committee Meeting (RCM) for the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region in Santiago, Chile, from August 4โ€“6, 2025. The high-level gathering will convene representatives from ISA Member Countries, regional institutions, private sector leaders, think tanks, and youth innovators under the theme: โ€œHarnessing Solar Power for Resilience, Growth, and Unity in the Region.โ€

The meeting aims to catalyze clean energy access across LAC through innovation, strategic collaboration, and policy alignment. ISA Director General Ashish Khanna emphasized the region’s vital role in the global energy transition, citing its abundant solar and hydro resources, and vast reserves of critical minerals like lithium. He highlighted the ISAโ€™s focus on private finance mobilization, digital transformation, and capability-building to help LAC nations follow a robust solar development pathway.

The RCM, chaired by Grenada, will align LAC priorities with ISAโ€™s strategic pillars: catalytic finance, global capability centers, regional procurement platforms, and policy roadmaps for green hydrogen, energy storage, and mineral supply chains.
