Greenzo Energy India Limited has received an important order from Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL), Indiaโs largest stainless-steel manufacturer, for setting up a green hydrogen plant at JSLโs Kalinga Nagar Industrial Complex in Jajpur, Odisha. The scope of the project includes supply, erection, installation, and commissioning of an advanced electrolyser-based green hydrogen facility along with complete balance of plant systems. The plant is designed to produce 472,409 kilograms of green hydrogen per year, with delivery scheduled within six months of the contract signing.
At the initial stage, the plant will generate about 5.26 million Nmยณ of green hydrogen annually, which translates to approximately 0.47 KTPA. The design also allows future scalability up to 1.5 KTPA. The green hydrogen produced will be utilized in critical processes such as the Bright Annealing Line and the Bell Furnace, enabling Jindal Stainless to gradually transition toward green steel production and reduce its overall carbon emissions.
Mr. Sandeep Agarwal, Managing Director, Greenzo Energy India Limited, said in a statement, โThe trust shown by Jindal Stainless further reinforces Greenzoโs position as a leading homegrown hydrogen technology partner. Our indigenously developed electrolyser systems are designed to deliver efficiency, reliability, and scalability. The fully indigenous alkaline bipolar electrolyser features India-developed bipolar stack technology, delivers hydrogen output at 30 bar pressure, ensures ultra-high purity of 99.99999%, and comes with integrated SCADA and AI-based automation for real-time optimization and predictive diagnostics. We are proud to support JSLโs clean energy roadmap and contribute meaningfully to Indiaโs Green Hydrogen Mission. This partnership is not just about technology supply, but also about building a sustainable and competitive ecosystem for Indiaโs energy transition.โ
As part of the project, Greenzo Energy will not only supply the technology but also provide operational support and training to ensure smooth integration. This includes thirty days of on-site training for Jindal Stainlessโ technical team, followed by eleven months of virtual guidance to assist in plant operations and ensure long-term efficiency. For Jindal Stainless, this initiative represents a decisive step in decarbonizing stainless steel production, aligning with Indiaโs climate goals and global ESG benchmarks. For Greenzo Energy, the order adds strength to its growing portfolio and positions the company as a trusted partner for leading industries moving towards clean energy solutions.
The development also comes at a time when India is expanding its investments in hydrogen infrastructure, with supportive policies and incentives encouraging adoption across energy-intensive sectors such as steel, refining, and chemicals. With this collaboration, both Jindal Stainless and Greenzo Energy are positioning themselves as early leaders in the clean energy value chain at a global level.
