FedEx has joined forces with the World Vision Foundation of Thailand to improve clean water access in the Pa Deng community of Phetchaburi province through the installation of solar-powered water filtration systems.

The community, which has faced recurring water supply challenges due to frequent power outages, will now benefit from a more reliable and sustainable source of clean water. The project is expected to directly support more than 1,900 residents across four villages.

As part of the initiative, over 20 FedEx volunteers worked alongside local residents to install both solar panels and advanced filtration systems, ensuring consistent access to safe water for hygiene and sanitation needs.

“Water and electricity are crucial for every community’s well-being. At FedEx, we’re committed to offering solutions wherever they’re needed. Through this project, we aim to empower Pa Deng residents by improving their access to these essential resources. I’m so proud of our team who truly live our commitment to doing good and support our FedEx Cares initiatives,” said Sasathorn Phaspinyo, Managing Director of FedEx Thailand.

This year’s contribution builds on FedEx’s earlier efforts in Pa Deng. In 2023, the company supported the installation of eco-friendly waste incinerators and biogas systems to replace traditional waste disposal practices such as open-air burning and landfilling. The systems provided a more sustainable method of managing organic waste while reducing toxic emissions.

The initiative aligns with FedEx’s global sustainability strategy, which includes a commitment to achieve carbon-neutral operations by 2040. Key measures under this strategy include the use of electric vehicles, fuel-saving technologies, renewable energy sourcing, and sustainable packaging solutions.
