BIG FM Partners Adani Group to Power India’s First Solar-Powered Radio Movement

BIG FM, one of India’s leading radio networks, has partnered with the Adani Group to launch Story of Suraj, a first-of-its-kind initiative that showcases the transformative power of solar energy. The landmark campaign has earned recognition in both the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records for creating India’s first solar-powered radio station.

Designed as a comprehensive 360-degree campaign, Story of Suraj extended across 39 cities, seamlessly integrating radio, digital, and on-ground activations. At the heart of the campaign was “Suraj Bhaiya,” a symbolic character whose journey highlighted how renewable energy can bring meaningful change to daily life.

The campaign kicked off with a nationwide content roadblock, ensuring listeners across the country were introduced to Suraj’s story. More than 80 radio jockeys produced over 250 content pieces, collectively reaching 2.91 crore listeners on air. The impact was further amplified online, with 21 million+ digital impressions generated across BIG Live and RJ-led social media platforms.
