Renewable energy company Alternergy Holdings Corp. has secured five projects under the Department of Energy’s (DOE) 4th Green Energy Auction, marking a major milestone in its efforts to expand across the Philippines.

The DOE on Friday released the preliminary list of accepted bids from the September 2 auction, confirming that five of Alternergy’s qualified bids were successful. The projects span three renewable technologies and are located across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The company’s winning bids include:

One onshore wind project each in Luzon and Visayas

Two floating solar projects in Luzon

One solar-plus-energy storage project in Mindanao

Alternergy President Gerry P. Magbanua welcomed the results, emphasizing the company’s strategic approach. “We are delighted to learn of our successful participation under the DOE’s Green Energy Auction. Our Triple Play strategy to expand our project pipeline with new renewable technologies in floating solar and solar plus battery storage, on top of our core strength in developing onshore wind, finally paid off,” he said.

The company stated that the results reflect its continued efforts to diversify its portfolio beyond wind energy and build a nationwide pipeline of renewable projects. Alternergy also noted that further details will be released once the DOE provides final confirmation of the winning bids.

Founded by a group of renewable energy advocates, Alternergy currently has several projects under advanced construction, including wind, solar, and run-of-river hydro developments. The company aims to achieve 500 megawatts of additional capacity by 2026 as part of its “Road to 500MW” growth strategy.
