EVE Energy, a pioneer in big-battery technology, has reached a major milestone in the energy storage industry by successfully connecting the worldโs first 400MWh energy storage project using 628Ah ultra-large cells to the grid. The project, Phase II of the Ruite New Energy Project in Lingshou, Hebei, China, demonstrates EVE Energyโs capabilities across research, development, and deployment of high-capacity cells, and marks the official entry of big-battery technology into large-scale energy storage.
With global energy systems undergoing transformation, energy storage technologies are rapidly advancing in scale and readiness. Cells exceeding 600Ah are becoming critical for improving energy density, reducing lifecycle costs, and enhancing safety and reliability. The Lingshou 200MW/400MWh standalone energy storage project, jointly developed by EVE Energy and State Grid Power Technology, was energized on September 8, 2025. This facility represents the worldโs first large-scale use of 628Ah cells at the 100MWh level, setting a new benchmark for the sector.
EVE Energy showcased exceptional project execution by delivering and connecting 80 Mr. Giant energy storage systems and 40 integrated converter cabins to the grid within a single week. The company managed quality control, engineering coordination, system commissioning, and operational support, demonstrating the maturity and practical feasibility of big-battery technology. The project offers critical experience for large-scale energy storage deployment and contributes to the modernization of the grid. As the worldโs first operational 100MWh-scale large-cell storage facility, it enhances regional peak-shaving, frequency regulation, and power supply reliability.
Additionally, it supports the integration of renewable energy, optimizing Hebei Provinceโs energy structure and advancing local carbon reduction goals. EVE Energy is also taking its technology global. On September 10, the first batch of Mr. Giant energy storage systems equipped with 628Ah cells was shipped to Australia and Europe. These systems feature a minimalist design, high efficiency, low noise (โค65dB), and suitability for four-hour-plus long-duration storage. The international deployment highlights global recognition of Chinaโs large-cell battery technology and EVEโs ability to scale solutions worldwide.
From the first grid connection in China to international delivery, EVE Energy has demonstrated the full-market application of 628Ah cells, ushering in a more efficient, economical, and reliable phase of energy storage. Moving forward, EVE Energy plans to continue leveraging its technology-driven and manufacturing-led approach, collaborating with global partners to accelerate the green energy transition and support sustainable energy systems worldwide.
