Avaada Group, a diversified energy company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Gujarat to invest a total of ₹36,000 crore in solar, wind, and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects across the state. The agreement was signed at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2025 and underscores Avaada’s commitment to supporting Gujarat’s vision of becoming a hub for clean and sustainable energy, while contributing to India’s green energy transition. Under the terms of the MoU, Avaada Group will develop 5 gigawatts of solar power projects, 1 gigawatt of wind power projects, and 5 gigawatt-hours of BESS projects.
These projects will be implemented in the districts of Kutchh, Banaskantha, and Surendranagar, and are expected to commence between 2027 and 2030. The integration of renewable energy generation with advanced battery storage will help improve grid reliability and ensure efficient storage and dispatch of green power beyond solar hours.
The combined portfolio of projects is expected to generate more than 1,000 direct and 2,000 indirect green jobs in the state. Additionally, during the construction phase, employment opportunities will be provided to nearly 5,000 people. Alongside job creation, the projects will contribute to significant environmental benefits, including the reduction of over 12 million tons of CO₂ emissions and the conservation of approximately 166 million litres of water annually through robotic module cleaning technology.
Avaada Group recently inaugurated its 280 megawatt solar power project in Surendranagar, Gujarat, which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The project, developed under the Gujarat State Solar Policy, spans 1,170 acres in the villages of Tavi and Varsani and involved an investment of ₹1,500 crore. It is equipped with ALMM-certified, Make in India TOPCon N-Type bifacial solar PV modules, reflecting the company’s emphasis on domestic manufacturing and technological innovation. In addition, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for Avaada’s 100 megawatt solar project in Vadodara district. Spread across 350 acres, this project is expected to involve an investment of ₹400 crore.
