Since early 2025, the China General Certification Center (CGC), a leading independent certification authority in China, has been tracking and evaluating multiple outdoor photovoltaic (PV) empirical projects to compare the power generation performance of LONGi’s Hi-MO 9 BC modules and mainstream TOPCon products across diverse application environments.
Authoritative reports from CGC confirm that the Hi-MO 9 BC modules demonstrate a significant power generation advantage over TOPCon products in a range of operating conditions, including sites in Hainan and Zhejiang. Data shows that modules based on LONGi’s HPBC 2.0 technology deliver superior performance in three key areas — standard outdoor generation, partial shading, and post-shading recovery — with cumulative per-kilowatt generation gains of 0.75%, 32.62%, and 11.34%, respectively.
The LONGi Hainan empirical project, located in Yazhou District, Sanya City, benefits from a tropical maritime monsoon climate with abundant year-round sunlight. The site features four module arrays (20 Hi-MO 9 and 20 TOPCon modules each), including shaded and unshaded configurations. Over a two-month monitoring period from October to December 2024, and under the supervision of CGC, performance comparisons across cumulative and time-segmented power generation confirmed the clear advantages of Hi-MO 9 modules in real-world application scenarios.
Another CGC test base in Sanmen County, Zhejiang Province, provides a contrasting environment, characterized by a subtropical monsoon climate and a coastal mudflat setting. Subjected to challenges such as high humidity, salt mist, and tidal influences, this site replicates the harsh conditions typical of coastal PV installations. The CGC Mudflat PV Test Base report is the first to validate the performance differences between BC and TOPCon technologies under real-world marine conditions. Results indicate that Hi-MO 9 modules with HPBC 2.0 technology achieve a 1.93% higher per-kilowatt power generation and maintain an average operating temperature 1.26°C lower than TOPCon modules.
Collectively, these empirical studies highlight the outstanding power generation capabilities and durability of LONGi’s Hi-MO 9 modules across complex outdoor environments.
