In a major step toward integrating artificial intelligence and sustainable energy, ADNOC, Masdar, XRG and Microsoft have signed a strategic agreement to accelerate AI adoption across ADNOCโ€™s operations and support Microsoftโ€™s global AI and data center energy needs. The announcement was made at the ENACT Majlis in Abu Dhabi, ahead of the ADIPEC 2025 conference.

Under the collaboration, ADNOC and Microsoft will jointly develop AI agents to enhance autonomous operations, optimize efficiency and strengthen digital capabilities across ADNOCโ€™s value chain. Microsoft will also support AI deployment through advanced digital tools and workforce upskilling initiatives. In addition, all four companies will collaborate to develop clean energy infrastructure and sustainable power solutions for Microsoftโ€™s expanding global AI and data center network.

The agreement builds on the long-standing partnership between ADNOC and Microsoft and formally brings Masdar and XRG into the alliance to co-create future-ready energy systems.

His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, ADNOC Managing Director and Group CEO, and Chairman of Masdar and XRG, said the partnership reflects the UAEโ€™s commitment to embedding AI in industry while creating the energy systems that will power AI globally.

Microsoft Vice Chair and President Brad Smith said the partnership demonstrates how cross-sector collaboration is essential to delivering secure, sustainable, and inclusive energy solutions for the AI-driven future.

The agreement further positions Abu Dhabi as a global hub for energy innovation by combining ADNOCโ€™s industrial expertise, Microsoftโ€™s digital leadership, and Masdar and XRGโ€™s clean energy capabilities to responsibly advance the next era of AI in energy.
