In a significant boost to India’s renewable energy manufacturing landscape, Premier Energies has announced plans to establish a ₹5,942 crore fully integrated solar manufacturing complex at Naidupeta Industrial Park in Andhra Pradesh’s Nellore district.

The upcoming facility will comprise a 5 GW silicon ingot and wafer unit along with a 4 GW TOPCon solar cell plant, positioning it among the largest integrated solar manufacturing projects in the country. The project is expected to generate around 3,500 direct jobs, in addition to substantial indirect employment opportunities through ancillary industries.

According to Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh, the initiative reflects the state’s commitment to fast-tracking investments in clean energy manufacturing. He highlighted that the government facilitated land allocation through the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC), ensuring project readiness within months.

Out of the total 269 acres earmarked for the project, 169.71 acres have already been allotted, with another 100 acres approved in principle, enabling the company to commence construction activities soon. Lokesh emphasized that Andhra Pradesh’s strategic location, strong port infrastructure, and proactive industrial policies played a decisive role in attracting the investment.

“This project represents how Andhra Pradesh converts intent into execution — aligning integration, logistics, and timelines with investor confidence,” Lokesh stated.

The facility aims to enhance India’s solar value chain by addressing upstream supply dependencies and boosting domestic manufacturing capacity. Industry experts believe the move will strengthen India’s position as a global solar manufacturing hub, aligning with national goals of energy self-reliance and export competitiveness.

Premier Energies’ new complex also complements Andhra Pradesh’s long-term vision of becoming a leading green manufacturing corridor, leveraging its coastal connectivity and infrastructure readiness to attract renewable sector investments.
