Andhra Pradesh has announced the results of its 1.2 GW rooftop solar auction conducted under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, marking another significant push toward residential clean energy adoption. The auction, held under the utility-led aggregator model, saw strong participation from established and emerging developers.
Kosol Energie secured the largest share with 291.54 MW, followed by Rotomag Enertec with 139.53 MW and Sadbhav Futuretech with 90 MW. Other major allocations went to Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals with 77.4 MW and Surya Cons with 60.27 MW. Several mid-sized developers also received capacities, including Brihaspathi Technologies, Junna Solar Systems, Sunworks Energy, VSA Infra Projects, and Sree Sai Electronics, each winning between 12 MW and 18 MW. Additional bidders collectively obtained 71.86 MW under the tender floated in July 2025.
A wide group of other companies, such as Sungrace Energy Solutions, Environ Energy Tech, Jahnavi Engineering and Consultancy, Surya Power Tree, Servotech Renewable Power System, RayPower Solutions, Cheriesh Power Technologies, and several others, have also been selected to implement rooftop systems. All chosen bidders are required to install projects specifically on residential homes belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe consumers, aligning with the scheme’s focus on inclusive access to solar power.
The scope of the awarded work includes the complete delivery of rooftop systems—from design and engineering to supply, transport, installation, testing, and commissioning. Developers must also provide five years of operations and maintenance services. The projects carry a tight implementation timeline of six months. To qualify for central financial assistance from MNRE, developers must use domestically manufactured solar cells and modules that meet prescribed quality and warranty standards, including an eight-year product warranty and guaranteed performance retention of 90% after ten years and 80% after twenty-five years.
The auction outcome strengthens Andhra Pradesh’s efforts to scale household-level solar adoption while supporting domestic manufacturing and ensuring long-term system reliability.
