KPI Green Energy Limited has announced a significant achievement with the award of a major floating solar power project in Gujarat. The company has received a Work Order from Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited for the engineering, procurement, and construction of a 142 MW (DC) / 110 MW (AC) floating solar photovoltaic project. The installation will be developed at the reservoir of the Kadana Dam located in the Mahisagar district of Gujarat.

This project marks an important milestone for KPI Green Energy as it strengthens its position as a prominent developer of large-scale renewable energy projects in India. The addition of floating solar technology to its growing portfolio reflects the company’s strategy to diversify its solar capabilities beyond ground-mounted and rooftop systems. Dr. Faruk G. Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of the KP Group, described the development as a major achievement that demonstrates the company’s leadership in advanced clean energy solutions and supports India’s ongoing transition to renewable power. He added that the contract reinforces KPI Green Energy’s technical and execution expertise in complex EPC work.

The value of the work order is approximately ₹489.17 crore, making it one of the significant projects awarded to the company. The scope of the contract covers full turnkey responsibilities, including design, engineering, procurement of all project materials, construction, and installation of the floating solar system. In addition, the project includes the development of essential grid-integration infrastructure. This involves laying a 33 kV underground transmission line to connect the plant to the pooling station and installing 33/220 kV bays at the Kadana substation.

KPI Green Energy has also secured a ten-year operation and maintenance contract for the facility, ensuring long-term performance and reliability once the plant becomes operational. The overall execution period for the project is 18 months from the date of the order. The project was awarded by GSECL without any related-party involvement, and neither the promoters nor the promoter group has any interest in the awarding entity.

This major floating solar project is expected to significantly boost renewable energy capacity in the region and contribute to India’s broader clean energy goals. It also highlights the continuous growth and expanding capabilities of KPI Green Energy and the KP Group in the solar power sector.
