Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), through its subsidiary National Grid SA, has signed a SAR 1.3 billion agreement with Soudah Development to develop the electrical infrastructure required for the flagship “Soudah Peaks” project in the Aseer region.

According to information displayed in the project briefing, the agreement outlines the development of an integrated electrical network designed to support all phases of Soudah Peaks—a key tourism venture under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. The scope includes the construction of a central 380/132 kV transmission substation with a capacity of 500 MVA, along with two 13.8/132 kV substations.

The project further includes establishing an electrical interconnection system tailored to the mountainous terrain and unique climate conditions of Al-Soudah, ensuring reliable power supply for ongoing and future development activities.

The partnership is positioned to significantly support one of the Kingdom’s largest tourism initiatives, while strengthening SEC’s role in delivering critical infrastructure for national transformation programs. The enhanced electrical capacity is expected to play a vital role in enabling sustainable development and supporting Vision 2030 objectives.
