Trina Storage has expanded its strategic partnership with U.S.-based energy storage developer and operator Lightshift Energy to deliver more than 1 GWh of energy storage projects across the country. The collaboration aims to strengthen grid resilience, support rising power demand, and enhance system reliability amid increasing climate-driven stress on the U.S. grid.

Under the agreement, the new portfolio will deploy Trina Storageโ€™s Elementa 2.0 and 2.5 energy storage systems, known for high efficiency, strong safety features, and consistent performance across varied operating conditions. The installations will assist utilities and local communities by providing peak load management, flexible capacity, and stabilizing support as the nation experiences more frequent extreme weather events.

The partnership builds on a series of successful joint projects completed in 2024 across Groton, Holden, and Paxton in Massachusetts. Notably, during a Northeast heatwave, Trina Storage commissioned two sites ahead of schedule, ensuring critical capacity for local utilities during peak demand. The companies said the results demonstrate strong coordination, fast deployment capabilities, and reliable field performance.

Trina Storage noted that the growing multi-gigawatt-hour pipeline underscores its expertise in U.S. project engineering, certification, and system commissioning. Backed by regional teams, the company provides system integration, EMS coordination, grid testing, and onsite commissioning to ensure smooth execution and long-term operational reliability.

โ€œWe are pleased to continue our collaboration with Lightshift through this significant milestone,โ€ said Doug Alderton, Head of Sales, Trina Storage North America. He highlighted the strong results from previous projects and reaffirmed the companyโ€™s commitment to delivering flexible and reliable energy storage across U.S. communities.

Mike Herbert, Managing Partner at Lightshift Energy, said the expanded partnership aligns with Lightshiftโ€™s mission to scale high-value storage assets that bolster grid resilience and support the evolution of the U.S. power system. โ€œOur continued collaboration reflects our focus on delivering solutions that address load growth and provide consistent, high-quality performance for customers and communities,โ€ he said.

As Trina Storage deepens its presence in North America, the expanded partnership signals both companiesโ€™ long-term commitment to strengthening the nationโ€™s secure and resilient clean energy infrastructure.
