Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), a Navratna Central Public Sector Undertaking dedicated to the development of renewable energy capacity, has taken two significant steps to strengthen India’s clean energy transition through new partnerships signed in December 2025. These agreements reflect SECI’s continued focus on collaboration to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy projects across the country.

SECI signed a Statement of Intent (SOI) with GEAPP ServiceCo to support and strengthen India’s clean energy journey. The SOI was exchanged on December 12, 2025, by leaders from SECI and GEAPP ServiceCo in the presence of senior officials. This intent-based agreement signals cooperation between the two organisations in advancing clean energy initiatives and supporting India’s broader renewable energy goals.

In another key development, SECI also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indraprastha Power Generation Company Limited (IPGCL) and Pragati Power Corporation Limited (PPCL) on December 9, 2025. The MoU establishes the foundation for a strategic partnership focused on exploring and implementing renewable energy projects. Through this collaboration, the parties aim to work together on identifying suitable opportunities and supporting the development of clean energy infrastructure.

Indraprastha Power Generation Company Limited is the electricity generation company of the Government of Delhi and plays an important role in operating power plants and contributing to the capital’s power supply. IPGCL often works alongside Pragati Power Corporation Limited for power generation activities, making the partnership with SECI relevant for integrating renewable energy solutions into existing power systems.

These agreements underline SECI’s role as a central agency in driving India’s renewable energy expansion through partnerships with public sector entities and international organisations. By engaging with GEAPP ServiceCo, IPGCL, and PPCL, SECI is reinforcing collaborative approaches that can help accelerate project implementation and support India’s transition towards a cleaner and more sustainable energy mix.
