The Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Harsh Sanghavi, on Thursday inaugurated INOXGFL Group’s advanced solar and wind manufacturing facilities near Ahmedabad, marking an important step in India’s renewable energy journey. The inauguration included Inox Solar’s new solar module manufacturing facility at Bavla and Inox Wind’s nacelle and hub manufacturing facility at Kalyangarh. The developments align with the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to achieve 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030 and to make India self-reliant in clean energy manufacturing.

The INOXGFL Group operates across chemicals and renewables and is among the most integrated renewable energy players in India. Through its various subsidiaries, the group covers the full renewable energy value chain, including wind manufacturing through Inox Wind, solar manufacturing through Inox Solar, EPC services via Inox Renewable Solutions, operations and maintenance through Inox Green, advanced battery materials through GFCL EV, and power generation through Inox Neo Energies. Inox Clean, through its subsidiary Inox Neo, is also targeting to become the fastest independent power producer to install 3 GW of renewable energy capacity. At the same time, Inox Solar is aiming to become one of the largest Indian solar cell and module manufacturers with a global presence.

Inox Solar Limited has commissioned the first phase of its 3 GW solar module manufacturing facility at Bavla, Ahmedabad. The facility is fully automated and uses advanced manufacturing technology to produce next-generation N-type TOPCon solar modules. These modules are made using M10R and G12R solar cells and are designed to deliver higher efficiency, lower degradation, and better long-term reliability. The bi-facial nature of the modules allows power generation from both sides, which helps increase capacity utilisation factors and overall energy output. The facility reflects the group’s focus on advanced technology and large-scale domestic manufacturing.

Along with the solar facility, the Deputy Chief Minister also inaugurated Inox Wind’s nacelle and hub manufacturing plant with a capacity of 1.2 GW at Kalyangarh near Ahmedabad. The plant has been built to global manufacturing standards and has received approval from the National Institute of Wind Energy. It will manufacture nacelles and hubs for Inox Wind’s 3 MW class wind turbines as well as its upcoming 4X MW class turbines. The nacelle contains key power-generating components such as the gearbox, generator, and electrical systems, while the hub connects the rotor blades to the main shaft, together forming the core of a wind turbine.

The strategic location of the wind manufacturing facility is expected to improve logistical access to renewable energy project sites across western and southern India. This will help reduce transportation time, improve efficiency, and shorten project execution timelines. The facilities are also expected to generate more than 2,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, positively impacting the local economy and surrounding communities.

Speaking at the inauguration, Shri Harsh Sanghavi said that renewable energy is central to India’s growth story and that Gujarat has consistently played a leading role in driving the clean energy transition. He noted that such world-class manufacturing facilities strengthen India’s renewable energy capabilities, promote innovation, create jobs, and support national energy security. He added that the new plants will have a positive impact on local lives through employment and industrial development.

Mr Devansh Jain, Executive Director of the INOXGFL Group, thanked the Government of India and the Government of Gujarat for their policy support and focus on domestic manufacturing. He said the new nacelle and hub facility will allow Inox Wind to expand its technology offerings to include 4X MW class turbines, helping the company reach more customers across western and southern India. He also highlighted the group’s ambitious solar plans, with a target of 11 GW of solar module capacity and 8 GW of solar cell capacity by FY27 in India and overseas, which could result in annual revenues of over ₹20,000 crore. He added that the total consolidated revenues of Inox Clean are expected to reach around ₹30,000 crore by FY28.
