Luminous Power Technologies, a leading consumer energy fulfilment company in India, has secured multiple orders to install a cumulative 350 MW of solar power capacity under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme in Rajasthan. The projects reinforce Luminous’ growing role in supporting India’s clean energy transition while strengthening rural energy security.
As part of the orders, Luminous will supply 1,000 utility-scale NXI A grid-tie inverters for the solar installations. The inverters are designed to deliver up to 99 per cent efficiency and feature a rugged IP66 and C5-M design, enabling reliable performance under extreme weather conditions. The systems come with advanced protection features and a 10-year warranty, making them suitable for large-scale solar deployment.
Preeti Bajaj, CEO and Managing Director of Luminous Power Technologies, said the project marks a significant milestone for the company and aligns with India’s accelerating renewable energy ambitions. She noted that the initiative reflects Luminous’ commitment to expanding clean energy access while empowering rural communities through scalable solar solutions.
Under the project structure, electricity generated from the solar plants will be sold to local distribution companies (DISCOMs), which will supply clean power to residential, commercial, and institutional consumers. The initiative is also expected to provide stable additional income for farmers who lease their land for solar development, with more than 150 farmer families projected to benefit directly.
Once fully operational, the installations are expected to generate 500–560 million units of electricity annually, potentially offsetting 402,000–459,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year, equivalent to planting approximately 19–22 million trees.
Project execution is planned in a phased manner starting in the first quarter of 2026, involving multiple EPC contractors and local developers, with land-leasing arrangements facilitated directly with farmers and landowners.
The PM-KUSUM scheme, led by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), aims to reduce diesel dependence in the agricultural sector and enhance farmers’ income. The initiative supports India’s target of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, reinforcing the country’s progress toward a clean and self-reliant energy future.
