The National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI), in collaboration with GRIDCO Limited and supported by GGGI India, organised an Investment Dialogue on Floating Solar and Pumped Storage Projects to advance Odisha’s Clean Energy Vision. The event highlighted the state’s transition from a conventional energy hub to an emerging leader in renewable energy deployment.
The inaugural session featured senior officials and experts, including Shri Subrahmanyam Pulipaka (CEO, NSEFI), Shri Soumya Garnaik (India Country Representative, GGGI), Shri Deepak Gupta IAS (Retd, DG NSEFI and former MNRE Secretary), Ms. Surbhi Goyal (World Bank), Dr. Jai Prakash Singh (Deputy DG, National Institute of Solar Energy), Shri L.K. Tripathi (NHPC Limited), and Dr. Satya Priya Rath (MD, GRIDCO).
During the dialogue, stakeholders emphasized Odisha’s growing momentum in floating solar and pumped storage projects, positioning the state as a benchmark for scalable, system-ready clean energy initiatives. NSEFI highlighted Odisha’s strong performance, ranking it among the top three states in renewable energy in India, reflecting robust institutional capacity and utility-led planning.
The upcoming Floating Solar Policy was underscored as a key enabler to attract investment and accelerate reservoir-based solar development. Participants discussed strategies to move from intent to implementation and from potential to projects, reinforcing Odisha’s commitment to becoming a renewable energy leader.
The event represents a significant step in strengthening Odisha’s renewable energy ecosystem, fostering collaboration between government agencies, investors, and industry experts to support India’s broader clean energy transition.
