NTPC Green Energy Commissions 300 MW Phase Of 500 MW Bhadla Solar Project In Rajasthan

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has announced a major expansion of its renewable energy operations with the commissioning of a significant solar project in Rajasthan. According to a disclosure filed on January 14, 2026, under the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, NGEL successfully brought a part of its 500 MW Bhadla Solar PV Project into commercial operation. This initial phase has a capacity of 300 MW and is located in Phalodi, Rajasthan. The project is being executed by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NGEL.

The commercial operation of this 300 MW capacity became effective on January 13, 2026, following the issuance of commissioning certificates by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECL) on January 14, 2026. This achievement marks a significant step in NGEL’s operational expansion and strengthens its position in India’s growing renewable energy sector.

With the addition of the new solar capacity, NGEL’s total installed capacity has risen to 8310.28 MW, up from the previous 8010.28 MW. This growth highlights the company’s commitment to supporting India’s transition to cleaner and more sustainable energy sources. The announcement was formally communicated to the National Stock Exchange of India Limited and BSE Limited and was signed by Manish Kumar, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of NGEL.

NGEL continues to be a key subsidiary of NTPC Limited, actively contributing to the country’s renewable energy targets.
