Tata Power Renewable Energy Commissions 10 GW Of EPC Projects, Including 9.7 GW Solar And 290 MW Wind, Cementing Leadership In India’s RE Sector

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), one of India’s leading renewable energy companies and a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited, has solidified its position as a key player in the country’s renewable energy sector by commissioning 10 gigawatts (GW) of EPC projects to date. This portfolio comprises 9.7 GW of solar projects and 290 megawatts (MW) of wind projects, including 4.2 GW of in-house projects and 5.8 GW of third-party projects, reflecting the Company’s extensive expertise in both developing and executing large-scale renewable energy solutions.

In the first nine months of FY26, TPREL commissioned 1.88 GW of EPC renewable energy capacity, marking a 33% increase compared to 1.4 GW commissioned during the same period in FY25. This growth underscores the Company’s seamless execution capabilities, robust project management practices, and strong focus on quality and safety. Of the 1.88 GW commissioned during this period, 1,329 MW of solar projects were delivered for third-party clients, while 546 MW were completed for in-house renewable energy projects, including 187 MW of wind and 359 MW of solar capacity. These projects were successfully executed across multiple sites in five states, overcoming challenging soil and climatic conditions.

In the third quarter of FY26, TPREL achieved its highest-ever quarterly addition, completing 941 MW of renewable energy projects, a 139% increase over the 393 MW installed in Q3FY25. Notable projects commissioned during this period include DCR-compliant solar projects for NHPC, NLC, and SJVNL in Bikaner, Rajasthan, as well as a 187 MW wind project in Karur, Tamil Nadu. TPREL’s ability to deliver projects in challenging environments is supported by advanced engineering practices, a strong vendor network, an agile execution model, and an efficient supply chain.

These capabilities enable the Company to optimize costs while ensuring timely and high-quality project delivery. The Company’s total utility-scale operational capacity now stands at 6.0 GW, comprising 4.8 GW of solar and 1.2 GW of wind. Looking ahead, TPREL plans to commission an additional 0.75 GW of its utility-owned capacity during FY26, further strengthening its contribution to India’s renewable energy growth and sustainability goals.
