SECI, DGCA Sign MoU to Deploy Rooftop Solar Projects Across Civil Aviation Infrastructure

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), Government of India, to facilitate the deployment of grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants across DGCA buildings nationwide.

The MoU was signed on January 30, 2026, in New Delhi, marking a significant step toward SECIโ€™s expanding role beyond conventional renewable energy deployment. Under the agreement, SECI will support the installation of rooftop solar PV systems under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, enabling the integration of clean energy solutions within civil aviation infrastructure.

The collaboration underscores SECIโ€™s strategic intent to promote cross-sectoral renewable energy adoption across various government departments, including the aviation sector, contributing to Indiaโ€™s broader energy transition and sustainability objectives.

The MoU was signed and exchanged by Smt. Seema Pahuja, Deputy Director, DGCA, in the presence of Shri C. L. Gautam, Director (Finance), DGCA. Shri Manas Ranjan Mishra, Deputy General Manager (Solar), represented SECI during the signing ceremony.
