Sunsure Energy has started supplying solar power to Max Healthcare Institute Limited’s Super Speciality Hospital located in Sector-128, Noida, marking an important step toward cleaner and more sustainable healthcare operations. The renewable energy is being supplied under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), reinforcing the growing adoption of green energy solutions by large institutions in India.
Under this agreement, Sunsure Energy will provide solar power from its 15 MW solar plant in Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh. The arrangement will allow Max Healthcare to source clean electricity at a significantly lower cost compared to conventional grid power. According to estimates, the hospital is expected to achieve nearly 50% savings on its energy costs, while also reducing its dependence on fossil fuel-based electricity. This transition supports both financial efficiency and environmental responsibility for the healthcare facility.
One of the notable aspects of the project is the speed of execution. From the signing of the PPA to the commencement of power supply, the entire process was completed in a little over three months. This highlights Sunsure Energy’s ability to deliver renewable power quickly while maintaining reliable and high-quality infrastructure. The project further strengthens Sunsure’s position as a preferred round-the-clock renewable energy partner for large commercial and institutional consumers.
The shift to solar energy will also have a significant environmental impact. The hospital is expected to offset approximately 4,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions every year. Over the lifetime of the project, this will translate into a total reduction of more than 1.13 lakh tonnes of CO₂, contributing meaningfully to India’s broader climate and sustainability goals.
Commenting on the development, Shashank Sharma, Founder, CEO and Chairman of Sunsure Energy, said that healthcare is one of the most energy-intensive and critical sectors in the country. While Sunsure has previously worked extensively with pharmaceutical manufacturing companies, this project represents its first green power supply to a hospital. He added that supporting healthcare institutions in their transition to clean energy is both a responsibility and an opportunity, and praised Max Healthcare for taking a leadership role in building a resilient and sustainable healthcare ecosystem.
The announcement also aligns with Sunsure Energy’s expansion strategy in Uttar Pradesh under its ‘UP Shakti’ initiative. In September 2025, the company commissioned its 10th solar plant in the state, taking its total operational open access capacity in Uttar Pradesh to over 260 MWp. Sunsure currently supplies renewable power to major industrial consumers in the state, including Dabur, Inox Air Products, Kajaria, APL Apollo, Merino Industries and others. Looking ahead, Sunsure plans to scale its operational capacity in Uttar Pradesh to 500 MW by the end of FY 2026, with a mix of solar and energy storage solutions.
