Infrastructure and renewable energy company Ceigall India Ltd has secured a 220 megawatt (MW) solar power project at the Morena Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh, marking a significant addition to its renewable energy portfolio. The company received the Letter of Award (LoA) from Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) on February 9, 2026, according to regulatory disclosures.
The project was awarded through a tariff-based competitive bidding process and involves the development of a solar power plant integrated with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Ceigall India emerged as the lowest bidder, quoting a tariff of โน2.70 per kilowatt-hour. The total project cost is estimated at around โน1,700 crore, including GST.
Under the terms of the contract, Ceigall India will be responsible for the design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the project. The construction period is expected to be 24 months, following which the company will operate and maintain the facility for a period of 25 years.
Morena Solar Park is being developed as a key renewable energy hub in Madhya Pradesh, aligning with the governmentโs broader objective of expanding clean energy capacity and reducing dependence on fossil fuels. The integration of battery storage is expected to enhance grid stability and enable better utilisation of solar power during peak demand hours.
Ceigall India, traditionally known for its road and infrastructure projects, has been steadily expanding its presence in the renewable energy sector. The award of the Morena project underscores the companyโs diversification strategy and strengthens its order book in the fast-growing green energy segment.
