Iberdrola reported strong growth in its distributed energy activity during the 2025 financial year, reaching a record 255,976 GWh of energy delivered worldwide. This represents a 7.5% increase compared to the previous year. The United Kingdom was the main driver of this growth, recording a 52.2% rise in distributed energy volumes, supported in part by the integration of SP Electricity North West into its operations. These figures were disclosed in the companyโs latest submission to the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).
By the end of 2025, Iberdrolaโs global installed capacity had risen to 58,343 MW, marking a 3.2% increase year-on-year. Renewable technologies make up a significant share of this capacity: onshore and offshore wind account for 40.5%, hydroelectric generation contributes 22%, and solar power represents 15%. The company also continued to expand its battery storage portfolio, which reached 683 MW following new developments in Australia, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
Capacity growth varied across regions. Iberdrola Energรญa Internacional recorded the strongest increase, with capacity rising 19% thanks to new facilities commissioned in Australia. The United Kingdom also delivered notable growth of 8%, driven by additional wind power and battery installations. In the United States, installed capacity expanded by 5% over the year. Together, these developments reflect Iberdrolaโs continued progress in diversifying and strengthening its renewable generation and storage assets across key global markets.
