Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy, held talks with Yermek Kosherbayev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to strengthen bilateral cooperation across key sectors, particularly energy.
The meeting took place in the presence of Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Yerlan Akkenzhenov, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Energy. It was held within the framework of establishing the Saudi–Kazakh Coordination Council, a new platform aimed at enhancing strategic collaboration between the two nations.
The Council will be chaired on the Saudi side by the Minister of Energy and on the Kazakh side by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, underscoring the commitment of both governments to expand bilateral engagement.
Following the discussions, Prince Abdulaziz and Minister Kosherbayev signed an agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan to formally establish the Saudi–Kazakh Coordination Council, in the presence of Kazakhstan’s Energy Minister.
The Council is expected to strengthen coordination and consultation mechanisms and develop cooperation frameworks across multiple sectors of mutual interest. Discussions during the meeting focused particularly on advancing collaboration in energy, including renewable energy and energy storage systems, as well as enhancing investment opportunities.
The ministers also reviewed developments in the global oil market as part of ongoing consultations between the two countries in the energy sector.
