NTPC Green Energy Limited has announced the commencement of commercial operations for a new solar power capacity in the state of Andhra Pradesh, further strengthening its renewable energy portfolio. The announcement was made through a regulatory filing submitted to the National Stock Exchange of India and BSE Limited on March 9, 2026.

The newly operational project involves a 91.6 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) facility, which forms the second phase of a larger 250 MW solar power project. The company confirmed that this capacity became commercially operational on February 27, 2026. The declaration followed the issuance of the required operational certificate by Solar Energy Corporation of India, the government-backed agency responsible for implementing several renewable energy programs across the country.

Earlier, the first phase of the same project, with a capacity of 158.4 MW, had already begun operations. That phase was officially announced through a disclosure made on February 20, 2026. Together, the two phases now complete the full 250 MW solar project.

The project is being implemented through a layered corporate structure. The solar facility is owned by Ayana Kadapa Renewable Power Private Limited, which operates as a subsidiary of Ayana Renewable Power Pvt. Ltd. Ayana Renewable Power itself is a wholly owned subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited, a joint venture company associated with NGEL.

Following the commissioning of this additional 91.6 MW capacity, the total installed renewable energy capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group has increased to 9,292.68 MW. Before the project became operational, the groupโ€™s commercial capacity stood at 9,201.08 MW.

The new capacity addition reflects the companyโ€™s continued expansion in Indiaโ€™s renewable energy sector and highlights its efforts to scale up solar infrastructure through partnerships and joint venture projects.
