Zimbabwe’s 100 MW Munyati Solar Plant Advances With Early Construction Works In Midlands Province

The 100 MW Munyati Solar Plant project in Zimbabwe’s Midlands province has moved into a new stage of development as Munyati Evergreen Energy officially began active site establishment and early works. This marks an important milestone for the large-scale renewable energy project, which is expected to become one of the significant utility-scale solar photovoltaic installations in the region.

The project is being developed through a public-private partnership with the Government of Zimbabwe, highlighting the country’s growing focus on cooperation between private investors and state authorities to strengthen national energy infrastructure. The solar plant is strategically located at the existing Munyati Power Station, allowing the project to benefit from an established energy generation corridor and supporting infrastructure already available at the site.

Once completed, the 100 MW facility is expected to provide a major boost to Zimbabwe’s electricity supply by adding clean and reliable solar power to the national grid.
