Bajel Projects’ AGPOPL Wins Gujarat TBCB Project for 270 km of 765 kV Transmission Lines

Bajel Projects Limited has announced that its associate company, AnantGrid Projects One Private Limited (AGPOPL), has been declared the successful bidder for a major power transmission project in Gujarat under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route.

In a corporate disclosure filed with the BSE and NSE on August 21, 2026, Bajel Projects said AGPOPL has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from PFC Consulting Limited (PFCCL) for the project. AGPOPL emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) following an e-reverse auction conducted on August 6 and 7, 2026.

The project, titled “Common Transmission System for evacuation of power from Lakadia (Phase-II: 7.5 GW), Jam Khambhaliya (Phase-II: 5.5 GW), and Jamnagar (Phase-I: 1 GW) – Part-A,” involves the development of approximately 270 km of 765 kV double-circuit transmission lines from Halvad to Vadodara in Gujarat.

The scope also includes additional works at three substations — Halvad, Vadodara and South Olpad — to strengthen the transmission infrastructure required for evacuating power from upcoming generation capacity in the region.

AGPOPL is jointly owned by the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF), which holds a 74% stake, and Bajel Projects, which holds the remaining 26%.

Under the collaboration, NIIF will contribute its capital investment and asset management capabilities, while AnantGrid will provide project development and project management expertise. Bajel Projects will leverage its engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) capabilities for project execution.

The transmission project is expected to support the evacuation of renewable power and aligns with India’s broader objective of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
