The installations will serve stores operating under the Carrefour, Atacadão and Sam’s Club brands and are expected to generate around 56 GWh of electricity annually. The project represents an investment of more than BRL 100 million.

Under the agreement, GreenYellow will finance, develop, install, operate and maintain the solar systems through its Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) model, enabling Carrefour Brazil to adopt renewable energy solutions without upfront capital expenditure.

The solar installations will operate under a self-consumption model, with the electricity generated being used directly at the participating sites. The systems are expected to supply approximately 30 percent of the stores’ electricity demand.

The project supports Carrefour Brazil’s efforts to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions while expanding the use of distributed renewable energy across its operations.
