The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has invited online e-tenders for the facility management and comprehensive maintenance of a 1.5 MWp rooftop grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) plant installed at the Integrated Cargo Complex of Chennai Airport. The tender has been issued through the Central Public Procurement Portal (CPPP) under a two-envelope bidding system and aims to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of the solar power facility for a period of 36 months.
According to the tender document, the estimated contract value is ₹1.61 crore, excluding Goods and Services Tax (GST). The selected contractor will be responsible for the complete upkeep of the solar plant, including routine maintenance, monitoring, and ensuring uninterrupted performance of the grid-connected system throughout the contract duration.
Interested bidders are required to submit a non-refundable tender processing fee of ₹1,180, inclusive of GST, through the online portal. In addition, an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹4.83 lakh, equivalent to 3% of the estimated project cost, must be deposited online. The EMD of unsuccessful bidders will be refunded after the completion of the technical and financial evaluation process. A Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) will also be required from the successful bidder in accordance with AAI regulations after the award of the contract.
The tender was officially published on June 17, 2026, at 6:00 PM, while the downloading of bid documents and submission process commenced on June 18, 2026, from 9:00 AM. Bidders can seek clarifications regarding the tender through the CPP portal until June 25, 2026, at 4:00 PM. The final deadline for bid submission is July 9, 2026, at 3:00 PM.
The technical bids, submitted under Envelope-I, are scheduled to be opened on July 10, 2026, at 3:30 PM. Financial bids under Envelope-II will be opened tentatively on July 13, 2026, at 3:00 PM for those bidders who successfully qualify in the technical evaluation stage.
To be eligible, bidders must possess a valid electrical contractor license, GST registration, PAN, and demonstrate prior experience in operating and maintaining similar grid-connected solar power plants during the last seven years. They must also have an average annual financial turnover of at least ₹18.61 lakh over the previous three financial years and a minimum net worth of ₹7.88 lakh certified by a Chartered Accountant with a valid UDIN. AAI has clarified that joint ventures and consortiums will not be allowed to participate in the tender.
