NTPC Renewable Energy Signs 1200 MW Solar Power Supply Agreement With PTC India

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with PTC India Limited for the supply of 1,200 MW of solar power. The agreement marks a significant step in supporting India’s clean energy transition and strengthening the country’s renewable energy capacity.

NTPC REL is a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), which operates under NTPC Limited, India’s largest state-owned power utility. Under the bilateral agreement, NTPC REL will supply 1,200 MW of solar power to PTC India Limited, further expanding the role of renewable energy in the nation’s power sector.

The development was officially disclosed by NTPC Green Energy Limited through a regulatory filing submitted to the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE Limited on July 3, 2026. The disclosure was made by Deepak C. S., Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of NTPC Green Energy Limited, in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

The agreement was formally exchanged during a ceremony held in New Delhi. The event was attended by senior leaders from both organizations, including Dr. Manoj Kumar Jhawar, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of PTC India Limited, and Dr. J. S. Chandok, Chief Executive Officer of ONGPL. Senior officials from NGEL, NTPC REL, and PTC India Limited were also present during the signing ceremony.

The partnership is expected to play an important role in increasing the supply of renewable electricity in India while supporting the country’s long-term clean energy goals. The addition of 1,200 MW of solar power under this agreement reflects the growing focus on expanding renewable energy projects through strategic collaborations between public sector organizations.

The agreement also highlights the continued efforts of NTPC Group to strengthen its renewable energy portfolio and contribute to India’s target of increasing clean energy generation. By working together, NTPC REL and PTC India Limited aim to support sustainable power development, improve the availability of green electricity, and accelerate the country’s transition toward a low-carbon energy future.
