ACME Solar Operationalizes 3.62 GWh BESS Projects Across Rajasthan, Strengthening Renewable Energy Reliability

ACME Solar Holdings Limited has achieved a major milestone in India’s energy storage sector by operationalizing Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects with a combined capacity of around 3.62 GWh across three locations in Rajasthan. The development marks one of the fastest expansions of battery storage infrastructure in the country and highlights the growing role of energy storage in supporting India’s renewable energy transition.

Through its subsidiaries, ACME Solar commissioned approximately 2.29 GWh of BESS capacity during the current financial year. The newly operational storage assets are expected to improve grid reliability by helping manage peak electricity demand, balancing renewable energy generation, and enabling more consistent round-the-clock clean power supply.

The company also provided an update on the technical incident reported earlier at its ACME Suryodaya BESS facility located in Pokhran, Rajasthan. Following its initial statement issued on July 17, 2026, ACME Solar confirmed that a detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) has been completed.

According to the investigation, an electrical short circuit in the AC cables connecting the transformer with the Power Conversion System (PCS) caused a localized fire, which resulted in the temporary shutdown of the equipment. The company stated that the fire was quickly controlled and did not cause damage to other critical equipment installed at the facility.

ACME Solar confirmed that restoration work at the site has been successfully completed and operations have resumed. The company appreciated the quick response and efforts of its on-site teams and technology partners in managing the situation effectively.

With an integrated renewable energy portfolio, ACME Solar currently manages approximately 8,070 MW of projects across solar, wind, hybrid energy, and storage technologies. The company’s operational portfolio includes 2,990 MW of contracted capacity along with its 3.62 GWh BESS network. Another 5,080 MW of renewable energy capacity is currently under construction.
