The initial tender and contract for the project were awarded by REMC Limited. Under the agreement, ACME Solar will supply renewable power to Northeast Frontier Railway at a fixed tariff of Rs. 4.35 per kWh. The tariff will remain unchanged throughout the 25-year contract period.

Power supply under the agreement is scheduled to begin on February 25, 2029. This date has been identified as the Scheduled Commencement of Supply Date (SCSD), and the 25-year contract period will commence from this date.

The latest development follows an earlier corporate intimation issued by ACME Solar on December 24, 2025. The company formally disclosed the agreement to BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited on August 26, 2026. The disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations and was signed by Company Secretary Rajesh Sodhi.

The 130 MW RTC project is expected to contribute to the growing demand for reliable renewable power in the railway sector. RTC renewable energy projects combine power generation from renewable sources with suitable balancing and storage arrangements to provide electricity more consistently throughout the day.

ACME Solar also clarified that the transaction does not involve any related party. The company stated that none of its promoters, promoter group entities, or group companies have any financial or ownership interest in the entity that awarded the contract.
